Tangmere
Players - A Brief History
In December 1988 Rene Lawler
wrote and directed a pantomime called "The Princess
Who Wouldn't Smile" under the banner of Tangmere Talent
Show. Following that show, several members decided that
they would like to put on a play and Tangmere Players was
born with the production of Spring Song Singers for the
Young Players in March 1989 and Love’s a Luxury for the
adults in May.
Since that time the
programme has been a pantomime for the entire group in early
December, a Young Players production in March and a play
for the adults in May with occasional additional productions.
